Ogidi-Gbegbaje Builds Borehole, Construct Toilets For School In Delta Community

The outgoing President, Rotary Club Asaba GRA, Sir Edwin Ogidi-gbegbaje, has said that the club would continue to promote the  United Nations 17th Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in order to achieve agenda 2030.

Mr. Ogidi-Gbegbaje is also the Permanent Secretary, Directorate of Government House and Protocols.

He said that the full  implementation of SDG 6 would help achieve universal and equitable access to clean, safe and affordable drinking water for all.

Sir. Eddy Ogidi-gbegbaje, was talking to reporters wednesday at Ashinze Primary School, Azagba Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha south local government area  Delta State during the launch of the borehole with 3000 litres storage tanks.

The school also received a donation of two modern toilets  from Rotary Club International, GRA.

He highlighted the need to support Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa-led administration and the PDP in the stronger Delta agenda.

The Permanent Secretary recounted the mission statement of Rotary club of Asaba GRA and said that it provided the vision which guided the club to rescue Ashinze Primary School, which was in dire need of pottable water and toilet.

He continued; “touching lives positively is what the Rotary Club of Asaba GRA exemplifies. We have just donated a 3000 litre capacity water project and four modern toilets to Ashinze Primary School, Azagba”.

“As the outgoing President, Rotary Club Asaba GRA, I donated the toilets to the pupils and teachers. The the water project and the accompanying generator will serve both the school and entire community.

“As part of efforts towards supporting the stronger Delta agenda of this present PDP  administration led by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, the Rotary Club Asaba GRA under my leadership tends to promote SDGs 6, and 4 in terms of supporting quality education in primary schools.

“We also support good management of water resources including waste water and ecosystem management in order to promote good school culture”.

In another development, the PS disclosed that the club inducted interested new members into the club earlier even as the group  donated 299 Literally Books to the Anglican Girls Grammar School (AGGS), Asaba to rekindle their  reading culture.

He used the opportunity to also sensitize the students on the fight against Covid-19.

Head Teacher, Ashinze primary school, Margaret Okpah, thanked Rotary Club Asaba GRA under the leadership of the outgoing President, Rtn. Sir Edwin Ogidi-gbegbaje for his kind gestures especially for paying special attention to the needs of  girls, Women and all those in vulnerable situations.
