NADESSTU Lift Suspension Of Senate President, Deputy, Warns Political Mischief Makers To Steer Clear

The National Association of Delta State Students (NADESSTU), Delta State chapter, has restored its suspended Senate President, Comrade Comrade Odogwu Hyascent with a charge to exercise the full powers of his office.

Also lifted is the suspension on the Deputy Senate President, Comrade Oyali Azubuike.

A letter signed by Comrade Etere Gideon, Secretary General and Comrade Godwin O. Saturday
President, copied the Director, DSS, Delta State Command,
Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, Commissioner for Higher Education.

Others are the Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board, SSA and SAs to the Governor on Student Affairs, all institutional Heads,
the Comrade Community, all Chapter President and the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council.

According to the letter, “Following the countless efforts of the Department of State Security Services, Delta State Command and the Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board to restore peace in the association so as to prevent unnecessary chaos in the State, the National Joint Executive Council of the association held a meeting on Wednesday 18th November 2020 and resolved that the suspension of the Senate President, Comr. Odogwu Hyascent is hereby lifted.

“He is therefore pardoned and ratified to continue with all duties attached to his office. The Deputy Senate President, Comr. Oyali Azubuike, is hereby pardoned to continue his duties as the Deputy Senate President while we await the NEC to carry out their work”, the Association said.

The group warned political appointees to steer clear from the activities of the association.

“NADESTU is not a tool of confusion in the State, all Government appointees and stakeholders that are dividing the student community so as to cause chaos in the state for their own selfish interest should desist from such act as it will not speak well of the Okowa led administration”.

The group equally abolished all former Committees, “All Committee formerly set up to this regard are hereby dissolved”, it stressed.

NADESSTU appreciated all those who played one role or the other to see to it that peace was restored to the Association.

“We wish to appreciate the Director and men of the DSS, Delta State Command, the Commissioner and men of the Nigeria Police, Delta State Command, the Chairman and Secretary Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board and all senators for their immense concern and contribution towards achieving peace in the Association and the State at large”.
