Wife of the Delta State governor, Dame Edith Okowa, has entered into partnership with Naval Officers’ Wives Association (NOWA), in order to further reach out to the needy, especially the vulnerable.

Dame Okowa, the Founder of O5 Initiative, a pet project with which she has touched many lives across the state and beyond, appreciated NOWA, for their support.

While encouraging the National President and wife of the Chief of Naval Staff, Nana Haija Aisha Gambo and the group for their philanthropic gestures, she charged her to keep using her programme, ‘Clean Water’ initiative, to impact more lives positively.

The governor’s wife who assured the group of speaking to her husband on their demand for support in education for women and children, emphasized that communities exist that do not have access to clean water.

“We agree with you on the fact that you cannot do the work of reaching out to vulnerable members of the society and that is why we will all put our hands together to ensure that we leave the world better than we met it.

“If you set out to reach out to everyone, you will end up not reaching anyone at all. And so it is advisable that we focus on affecting one person at a time”, she noted.

The food items woth thousands of naira donated to City of David Mission Home, Asaba.

Earlier, the National President of Naval Officers’ Wives Association, Her Excellency, Nana Hajiya  Aishatu Gambo, disclosed that they were in her office to collaborate with her in necessary areas.

“We have come here today to align ourselves with you, this is because, your track record speaks for itself and there is no hiding place for a great achiever like you, especially in the area of service to humanity.

“No wonder you took the extra mile, amongst others, to establish a people centered O5 INITIATIVE outfit which primarily feeds the hungry and thirsty, cloths the naked, visits prisoners and helps the sick.

“This is a great innovation out of the ordinary, it’s inspiring and it goes a long way to redefine your person and also show out rightly, how much of a mother that you have been to the good people of Delta State.

“We also ask for more support in the areas of education for the young, medical and welfare needs for the vulnerable and vocational education and empowerment for women”, Mrs Gambo added.

The governor’s wife in company of Mrs Gambo, her Entourage and members of O’5 Initiative visited City of David Mission Home, where bags of rice, beans, gari, cartons of Indomie noodles, sack of detergents and several other foodstuffs were presented to them.

The orphanage thanked Dame Edith Okowa, Hajiya Gambo and their teams for remembering them just as they promised to reach out to other homes.
