Delta State Government has praised the leadership and members of Delta Online Publishers Forum (DOPF), for their professionalism and patriotism in handling information concerning the State.
The government used the medium to say it is appreciative of the support and cooperation it has been enjoying from online publishers in the state.
Executive Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Comrade Felix Ofou, expressed the appreciation when he played host to a delegation of DOPF led by the Chairman, Mr Emmanuel Enebeli.
Comrade Ofou noted that members of the Forum had consistently been publishing the activities of government over the years at their own cost, even in the current hard times, assuring that their partnership would not be taken for granted.
He said the importance of online news platforms could not be over-emphasized, describing them as critical stakeholders in the New media space, pointing out that the DOPF members had used their vast experience and integrity to manage information on government activities without resorting to Yellow Journalism.
The EA urged the publishers to always liaise with his office whenever there were issues to be clarified before going to press and pledged that they would be carried along by the Oborevwori administration in the scheme of thing.
Earlier in an address, the Chairman of DOPF, Mr Emmanuel Enebeli, said the visit was to congratulate Comrade Ofou on his appointment, which he noted would undoubtedly give the New Media in the state a boost.
Mr Enebeli commended the Oborevwori administration for the infrastructural development it had so far initiated, especially in the Warri, Effurun and environs axis of the state and urged the Governor to act on the Agbor-Umutu-Obiaruku-Abraka road to make it motorable and boost economic activities in the state.
