The Day 3 Guest Speaker to the Heroes Family 2023 Manifest programme and a foundation member of the Heroes International, Bishop Rex Owolabi (Bishop of the Springing Praise Int’l Ministry, Sapele), has said that as Christians, we contain more than we look.

He made this statement while speaking on “Gifts and Talents” as sub theme of the “Let The Rain Fall”, the main theme of the 2023 MANIFEST programme.

Bishop Owolabi described Gifts and Talents in their untapped form as potential; affirming that what you can do that you have not done yet, what you can become that you have not become yet and, what you can achieve that you have not achieved yet, is Potential.

Reading from the book of Psalm 139:13, Bishop Owolabi admonished Christians not to allow their circumstances or the opinion of men put them down.

According to him, “That you are where you are and not yet celebrated, doesn’t mean that you will never be celebrated. If you nurture your Potential well, you will be where your potentials look like.

“Gifts and Talents in their crude form are of little value, but when stretched and pressured, their value is enhanced. When Joseph had the dream that he was going to be a Prime Minister through the gift of seeing and interpreting dreams, he was just ignorant of what was coming to him. He went through pressure of hatred from his brothers who felt it was an abomination to bow down before their younger brother, and instead, they sold him out. But it was all God’s design to stretch and put the guy through training for the responsibility ahead.

“People would hate you not just for the dream of your present position but the dream of your future position. The devil would always want to kill you for what he has seen you will become in future, so as to stop the dream from manifesting to reality. If the devil knew about the crown of glory that was coming on Jesus Christ, he wouldn’t have dared to kill him.

“We must learn to trust the process of getting our gift and potential metamorphosed into reality. It might be slow but surely, it will come to pass”, Bishop Owolabi admonished.

Earlier, Pastor Nancy Nnenna David had charged the atmosphere by tellng the congregation how the fear of God can bring about the fall of the rain and the rain would remain.

She admonished Christians to be mindful of the things they do these days, feigning disappointment that people no longer fear what their lives can become when they disobey God.

Pastor Nancy maintained that for the rain of blessing to fall on an individual Christian, he or she has to be well positioned in the spirit realm, insisting that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom.

Advising against spiritual docility, she posited that the kingdom of satan has gone on rampage and the children of God must be at alert to continue to enjoy the rain, the former rain and the latter rain as promised in Joel 2: 22-23.

Her words, “This is about the rain of revival and the rain of transformation. We must not lose sight of our place in God’s Kingdom”.

Concluding, she revealed how God shielded the prophets when Jezebel wanted to destroy them in 1Kings 18:1-45.

She said that after Ahab received the prophecy that it was going to rain, he went to rest. However, Elijah who gave the prophecy never rested but instead, went to the mountain (the place of separation), where he continued to pray until there was an answer through the fall of the rain.

She urged further her audience never to rest, but to continue in the place of worship and prayer, which are the hallmark of a heaven bound Christian.
