The just concluded Saturday’s presidential election is an indication that the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) can’t convince Nigerians particularly Deltans to trust them with their vote again.
It is now an establish fact that in Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa’s desperate move to retain power sponsored Sheriff Oborevwori, the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly.
Okowa allegedly planted Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru, in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and the Kennedy Kawhariebie Pela who abbreviated his name as Ken Pela, claiming to have come from Oginibo, Ughelli south local government area whereas he is from Ogodobiri community in Bomadi local government area of the state, to thwart the chances of Gbagi, who they all see as roo powerful for them.
It is equally a fact that a former governor of the state, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, is purportedly in support of the Deputy Senate President cum Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly (NASS), Senator Ovie Augustine Omo-Agege, as governor.
Even though, it is another concrete fact that the APC gubernatorial candidate, is not a complete Urhobo man, his mother is said to jail from Koko, in Warri north and by extension, with Itsekiri blood and half Kwale because the Urhobo speaking people from Orogun migrated from Abbi.
One Richard James in making his findings public reaffirmed what is in the public domain that Omo-Agege’s mother is an Itsekiri from Koko in Warri north.
He further alluded that she hailed from Nana Olomu linage and a sister to Mrs Ayomike the wife of Pa. Ayomike, former chairman, Itsekiri leaders of thought.
According to James and published on Facebook by Arise News247, Ovie Omo-Agege lost his mother at a very young age and she was buried in Koko.
But why should the Deputy Senate President, hide this part of his life? Why should be first lie to himself and his followers and indeed Deltans? Why should politicians take oath of office laced with lies?
Recall that on the 5th of December 2022, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Ovie Augustine Omo-Agege, at Saint Lazarus Christ Church, he told the congregation during question and answer session on his identity, he said his mother is from Aghalokpe, Okpe local government area of Delta State.
While this governorship election is for true Delta Central, and full fledge sons, it should not be given any form of colouration for strangers to contest.
The Urhobos have been denied this same opportunity before when Chief James Onanefe Ibori, became governor.
For better understanding, Ibori and Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, his successor, are cousins. Ibori”s mother who is late Comfort Oji Ibori.
The mother of Comfort Oji Ibori, was from Mosogar, in Ethiope east local government area of the State, which earn her the Urhobo name “Oji”.
The late Comfort Oji Ibori’s father is Uduaghan (not the former governor). She is the senior child of Uduaghan, whose mother is from Mosogar, while her father is from Abigboeodo, an Itsekiri town in Warri north local government area of the State.
Dr. Emmanuel’s father who is the real Eweta Uduaghan with Ibori’s mother are same father but not same mother but are children of Uduaghan.
As Ibori’s mother was the senior child of Uduaghan, so also Uduaghan’s father, is the senior son of the Uduaghan, making Chief Ibori and Dr. Uduaghan to be cousins.
Checks revealed that Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, is elderly to Chief Ibori with about five years. While Emmanuel’s father is from Abigboeodo, Ibori’s father is from Otefe in Oghara.
Maternally, Ibori, is from Itsekiri but paternally, he is from Oghara while Uduaghan’s father is from Abigboeodo, where Ibori’s mother also hailed from.
So, from the above analogy, Urhobo should stand firm so as their birth right this time around would not be taken away from them.
The SDP gubernatorial candidate, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, is the only true son of Urhobo land whose father is from Oginibo while his mother is from Idjerhe.
