The Ika media community and Delta State at large have been thrown into mourning following the passing of a revered journalist and publisher, Pa Joe Onyibe, founder of Ika Voice Newspaper.

He died peacefully on Wednesday at the age of 90 in his hometown of Abavo, Ika South Local Government Area, after a brief illness.

Pa Onyibe, a seasoned media professional, was widely regarded as a pioneer of grassroots journalism in Delta State.

Through Ika Voice Newspaper, he gave a voice to local communities, championed social accountability, and mentored generations of young journalists.

With a career spanning over five decades, Pa Onyibe was admired for his integrity, fearless reporting, and deep commitment to community development.

He was instrumental in shaping public opinion in Ika land and played an active role in documenting the socio-political evolution of the region.

Family members, friends, colleagues, and admirers have continued to pour in tributes, describing him as a rare breed whose legacy will resonate for years to come.
