Urhobo Traditional Rulers Forum Gets New Chairman

The traditional ruler of Uvwie kingdom, His Royal Majesty (HRM) Dr Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso JP OON Abe 1, has successfully emerged as the Chairman, Urhobo Traditional Rulers Forum.

He was elected on Saturday July 1st 2023, at the Palace of the Chairman, Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, Orodje of Okpe Kingdom in Orerokpe, the administrative headquarters of Okpe local government area of the State.

Other elected officials include HRM Solomon Okunkeren, the Ovie of Arhawarien Kingdom (Vice Chairman) HRM Richard Oghenevwogaga Ebelle, the Ovie of Agbarha-Otor Kingdom (Secretary General), HRM King Obukohwo Whiskey, the Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom, Otota (Spokesman), HRM Noble Eshemitan, the Ovie of Oghara Kingdom (Treasurer) and HRM Okiemute Onajite, the Ovie of Ogor Kingdom (Financial Secretary)

The newly elected executive committee of Urhobo Traditional Rulers Forum would serve for four years.

The Uvwie monarch who spoke to newsmen shortly after the inauguration of the executive committee of forum, promised to work with both the Delta and Federal governments to ensure peace and attract meaningful developments to Urhobo Nation.

Abe 1 had earlier appreciated his colleagues for his election.

HRM Major General Felix Mujakperuo (rtd) the Orodje who also spoke described the election of the new executive committee of Association of Urhobo Traditional Rulers as free, fair and credible.

The Uvwie king, took over from the late Owhorode of Olomu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty (HRM), Dr. (Ovie) R.L. Ogbon, Ogoni-Oghoro 1, who until his demise, was the Chairman of the forum and the oldest king in Nigeria.
