Umukwata community in Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State has expressed profound joy and appreciation as renovation works commence at Umukwata Secondary School, restoring hope to students, staff, and residents after years of deterioration.

The school, which had suffered significant dilapidation, is currently wearing a “new look” following the approval of the renovation project by the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.

Pictures from the renovation site show ongoing repairs that have already lifted the morale of the school community.

In a statement of gratitude, Deputy Youth President of the community, Comrade Wilson Anioba described the development as a remarkable intervention, noting that the governor’s approval came at a time when the community was losing hope due to the declining state of the facility.

He praised Governor Oborevwori for his commitment to improving education infrastructure across the state through the M.O.R.E Agenda, adding that the “renewed hope” promised by the administration is now visible in Umukwata.

“Our working and able Governor has once again demonstrated his passion for grassroots development. The joy of the students, staff, and the entire community knows no bounds,” Anioba said. “Your M.O.R.E Agenda is being felt all over the state. We thank you immensely, and God bless you.”

The community also extended heartfelt appreciation to the Ward 4 leader, Chief Isaac Onyesom (popularly known as Omenosa), for facilitating the renovation and consistently demonstrating commitment to the welfare of Umukwata.

Anioba commended him for “being there for us, doing the Godly work you are known for, and always having the community at heart,” stressing that the people remain grateful for his role in making the project a reality.

With renovations progressing steadily, residents believe the upgraded school will enhance learning conditions and restore pride in educational development within the locality.
