The Director General of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, Chief Patrick Ukah, has carried out an inspection of several ongoing road projects across Capital Territory covering Oshimili south and north local government areas, highlighting his desires to infrastructure development.
Expressing satisfaction with the progress and adherence to schedules, Ukah emphasized the importance of utilizing the dry season to fast-track road construction and drainage improvements in the state capital.
He reassured residents that many of the projects, initiated in 2023, are on track for completion before the end of his tenure.
The inspection began with the 1.468-kilometer flood control project at Ogbeilo/Ugbomanta Street, which includes a drainage system connecting Ogbogonogo Market to Otuogwu Bay.
Ukah also visited several other key projects, including the 1.069-kilometer road network within the Delta Development and Property Authority (DDPA) Housing Estate, Asaba.
Anyafulu Chinedum Street and surrounding roads, such as Redeemer Street, Odilison E.C. Jnr. Street, and Ralph Uwachie Road.
The 0.840-kilometer Oliklli Layout, comprising Emeka Okolo Street, Bakasi Street, Mike Arinze Street, and Amechi Efagwuani Street.
Bright Ndubuisi Street (0.750 kilometers), Ajidua Road in Okpanam (2.250 kilometers), and Iella Minola Street (0.370 kilometers).
While acknowledging the contractors’ efforts, Ukah noted the identification of gaps and funding challenges during technical inspections, assuring that these issues are being resolved.
He further commended the contractors for their dedication and urged them to maintain their focus on timely delivery.
“The state government is committed to ensuring that some of these projects will be inaugurated soon,” he stated, reinforcing the administration’s pledge to enhance infrastructure and improve residents’ quality of life.
