The Secretary to the Delta State Government (SSG), Chief Patrick Ukah, has expressed satisfaction with the speed and quality of work being done in Asaba Capital Territory including the reconstruction/expansion of the old Lagos By-pass road linking Benin-Asaba expressway by Okpanam junction.
Chief Ukah stated this when he inspected the project sites and was conducted round by Mr. Ifeanyi Nkeki, he Managing Director of Bube Dan Global Resources Nigeria Limited.
The SSG noted that at the completion of the projects, many areas in the state capital territory that have been devastated by the effects of ravaging flood will no longer have such problems to contend with.
He commended the state governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, for his interest in the living environment of the people by making funds available for the execution of the projects.
Chief Ukah urged the people to continue to give the needed cooperation to the administration of Dr. Okowa as he is determined to finish Stronger at end of his tenure next year.
During the inspection, Mr. Nkeki informed the SSG that with the speed of work going on at the sites, the projects will be ready for commissioning by July this year.
In an interview, the Site Engineer, Peter Isiuwe, said that when the projects are completed, the flood that is threatening to cut the expressway into two will become a thing of the past.
