Traditional rulers have often been described as vital bridge builders between the government and the people.
This sentiment was echoed by the Orodje of Okpe, Maj.-Gen. Felix Mujakperuo (rtd), Orhue 1, during his meeting with the traditional ruler of Aboh Kingdom, Dr. Greg Oputa, Oputa, III, and his chiefs at the Orodje’s palace in Orerokpe, Okpe local government area of Delta State.
The Orodje emphasized that the roles of traditional rulers in promoting peace and fostering development in their communities are invaluable.
He assured that the relationship between the two kingdoms would serve as a catalyst for further growth in their regions.
As Chairman of the Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers, the Orodje stressed the importance of ensuring that their subjects adhered to the laws of the land in order to attract more development.
He also urged the people of Aboh Kingdom to support their king, fostering unity and making their area a model for others to admire.
In turn, Obi Oputa expressed his happiness at the strengthening of ties between the kingdoms, noting that it would bring positive outcomes to both.
He praised the Orodje of Okpe as an experienced and capable leader whose reign had benefitted both his kingdom and humanity.
Obi Oputa concluded by emphasizing that the collaboration of the traditional rulers would combine their collective experience for the benefit of the people of Delta State.
