The Chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL) and prominent Ijaw leader, High Chief Dr. Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, describing him as a principled, patriotic, and selfless leader.
In a heartfelt tribute issued on Monday July 14, 2025, Tompolo said the late President, who led Nigeria from 2015 to 2023, made significant contributions to national development and demonstrated an uncommon sense of modesty and integrity throughout his public service.
“President Buhari was not materialistic. He was content with what God blessed him with and sought out individuals of character, goodwill, and vigour to serve Nigeria,” Tompolo stated.
He recalled that it was under Buhari’s administration in 2022 that Tantita Security Services was engaged to provide surveillance over the country’s critical oil and gas infrastructure, a period when Nigeria was grappling with massive losses in crude oil production due to theft and pipeline vandalism.
“Thanks to his visionary leadership and commitment to safeguarding national assets, the tide has turned. Today, Nigeria is making steady progress toward peak oil production,” Tompolo added.
Describing the former president as a man who prioritized national peace and unity, Tompolo said Nigerians will miss Buhari’s calm strength and enduring commitment to the country’s stability.
He concluded with a message of condolence: “I extend my heartfelt condolences to the entire nation, his family, and close associates. May his soul rest in perfect peace.”
