Three Police, DESTMA Officers Honoured For Diligence, Commitment To Duty

The Association of Community Newspaper Publishers of Nigeria (ACNPN), Delta State Council has honoured one senior and two rank and file officers of the Nigeria Police Force, Delta State Command and one officer of the Delta State Traffic Management Agency (DESTMA) for diligence to duty and exhibiting high moral standards in the discharge of their official assignments.

The Police officers, namely; DSP Obi-Ijei Alphonsus, O/C Political, Woman Inspector Mary Akaeze, Traffic Control Officer, Inspector Eromedoghene Margaret, officer at Okpanam Police Station and the DESTMA officer, Mr. Augustine Agbaga, were presented with certificates of recognition at the Association’s annual lecture/award which held on Thursday 11th November,  2021, at Orchid Hotel in Asaba.

The honourees also received a cash gift of N20, 000.00 each from the Association, to encourage and motivate them to doing more in serving society.

Meanwhile, the representative of the Commissioner of Police,  Ari Mohammed Ali was elated and pleased with the Publishers for taking the initiative to reward hardworking officer and rank and file members of the Police Force, adding that the gesture would spur them in contributing more towards effective policing and crime fighting.

He commended the officers for representing the Police organisation in good light, thereby charging them to sustain the confidence already reposed in them by members of the public.

Moreso, the SSA to Governor Okowa on Health Monitoring, Dr Michael Nwoko who presented an award to the DESTMA officer,  commended him for distinguishing himself among others in the Traffic Management Agency.

Nwoko said he had personally taken note of how Agbaga takes dexterity in carrying out his job at his Okpanam Road beat, admonishing him to keep it up and expect more honours going forward.

Earlier in his address of welcome,  the Chairman of ACNPN,  Comrade Jude Obiemenyego had eulogized the four officers of the law, especially the Woman Inspector Mary Akaeze and Mr. Augustine Agbaga for their hardwork, ethical conducts and diligence to duty.

Obiemenyego said the group would continue to mount surveillance on the society with a view to uncovering the ills of society and celebrating those who are patriotic and committed to societal growth and development.

He therefore, charged the beneficiaries of the ACNPN’s special recognition award to remain good ambassadors of their agencies, maintaining that good name is better than riches no matter how bad the systems has become.
