Facts have emerged that yahoo boys are the allege sponsors of the second phase of the #ENDSARS protest scheduled to hold today Monday 21st December 2020, in Ughelli, the administrative headquarter of Ughelli north local government area of Delta State.
A viral video obtained by The Story, on Sunday 20th December 2020, where one David, with dreadlocked hair allegedly confessed that one Israel Joe, is the brain behind the planned protest.
According to David, “I am a human rights activist and an internet fraudster. In the year 2016 when I bought my car I was apprehended by the Ekpan police force, while I was taken to the police station, I called my elder brother Israel Joe who bailed me out of the station, introduced me to human rights, while I paid the sum of N20, 000 for registration fee and an additional N30, 000 to the exco Committee.
“I paid in cash to Israel Joe. My Chairman is aware that I am a member of the human rights activist but he is not aware that I am an internet fraudster. Comrade Israel Joe, is aware that I am an internet fraudster”.
He disclosed that he joined human rights activism to protect him from the police, “because what I was doing was not legal”, David confessed in the video.
The Director General (DG), Young Nigerian Rights Organization, Comrade Victor Ojei, alleged that the organizer of the protest was using it to emass wealth for himself.
Speaking further he said: “You are right, but the human rights community in Delta state has been hijacked by some corrupt individuals who now assimilate youths into the noble human rights Societies.
“Soon at the national level they will see Delta State human rights Community as a corrupt community in Nigeria. Many now even go to the extent of buying awards. I will toll the path of Governor Wike of Rivers State to Journalists, give me Challenges “stop giving me awards”, we need to drain the swamp, it is now becoming a “deep State”, Ojei disclosed.
Speaking on the planned protest, the President, Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) Youth Wing, worldwide, Comrade Kelly Efemena Umukoro, said the UPU would not be part of the Israel Joe-led protest.
Hear him: “My attention was drawn to one alleged protest of #ENDSARS phase 2, which is to take place tommorow in Ughelli. First of all, I want to state it categorically clear that the leadership of Urhobo Progress Union and all Urhobo youths worldwide, we are currently in touch with the police authority.
“It is on record that it was my effort and that of the Honourable Minister of State Labour and Employment that ensured the initial release of Comrade Nicholas Makolomi from detention when the case was withdrawn from Court last week and the Inspector General of Police said the case should be reinvestigated in Abuja, since then we and our lawyers are on it.
“It should be clear if not for the masses we would not have dignified one Israel Joe. Israel Joe, is from Edo State and not a Deltan. Information got to us that he went to Ughelli and was soliciting for N5, 000 per person to print T-shirt to protest again when this Israel Joe have not thought it wise to even contact the family of Prince Nicholas Makolomi.
“He does not know the extent we have gotten to, he does not know what is really on ground. He is planning to organize a protest in Ughelli town tommorow (today). The leadership of UPU youth wing and Urhobo youths worldwide, we are saying that we will use all our might to resist such protest tommorow (today). When it is time to protest, we know those to get involved for a genuine protest.
“But for now, we are currently negotiating with the Nigeria Police since the case is a case of national security, we don’t want to rush into the issue and get into a mess. The leadership, we are working round the clock with the family of Nicholas Makolomi to ensure that he is being released unhurt. I have a straight authority from the family of Nicholas Makolomi that nobody sent Israel Joe on this unintention struggle.
“Activism should be a selfless struggle to liberate Nigerians and not a means to ferment trouble behind and negotiate with government agencies. I personally placed a call to Israel Joe and I told him that we don’t need protest in Delta Central for the now. If he wants to organize protest he should go to Edo State where he hails from and organize protest.
“There is so much insecurity issues in the state and we have not yet recovered from the previous#ENDSARS protest and we are not going to allow a repeatation of that again. The #ENDSARS protest, it should be important to note here that the Urhobo nation as the most hited people from this#ENDSARS protest. The first police man that was killed in Nigeria, Etaga Stanley is an Urhobo man and as the president I am tired of writing RIP to my youths.
“And we shall use every legal means available to us to resist every elements that comes out to say they want to disrupt the peace of the nation”, stating that when the time for protest come after exhausting all available avenue, the right people would be contacted, ” But for now Israel Joe and his cohorts, they don’t have our blessings and they cannot hold that protest in Delta Central”.
He called on all security agencies “to treat every attempt of threat tommorow (today), to treat such individual as a criminal because they don’t have the backing of Urhobo youths, stakeholders and traditional rulers. They are out there to make money for themselves and not a genuine struggle for the release of Prince Nicholas Makolomi”, he alleged.
But in a swift reaction, Israel Joe said: “I’m not afraid nor intimidated by the snitch called Akima who is a very small boy in human right struggle.
“A fraudster who is parading himself as a national youth wing of UPU gave Wong Box a video to drag me down.
“The two videos are with The Mock News aka Pararan. But surely those blackmailers will hear from me my brother. Allow them to keep parading themselves.
“If because we planned a peaceful protest in favour of the release of Nicholas Makolomi who did the video that generated the #EndSars, Akima feels his blackmail strategies will work so that Nicholas can continue to suffer, he will hear from Deltans”.
It would be recall that the first #ENDSARS protest which later spread across the nation and beyond, started in Ughelli with Sergeant Etaga Stanley, who was laid to mother earth recently paying the supreme prize.
At press time, text message sent to the State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Hafiz Inuwa, was not replied.
