THE STORY BREAKING NEWS: Fulani Community Distant Self From Jihadists Attack On Delta

The Fulani Community in Delta State has distant themselves from the 72 hours ultimatum issued to the state goverrnor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, over the ban on open grazing jointly declared by the southern governors in Asaba, the state capital.

In a joint press briefing in Abraka, Oshimili north local government area of the state, the Senior Special Assistant to the governor in charge of Special Duties, Alhaji Usman Muktar, flanked by the leadership of the fulanis, disclosed that they are not party to the embers of war drummed by the “Fulani Jihadists”.

He lamented that they received the news of the attack with shock just as he disclosed that since yesterday, the Fulani Community is enveloped with fear of possible attack from their host communities.

His words: “We are very disappointed in what happened yesterday in the state and we are calling on the state government and security agencies to know that we are not part and parcel of that nonsense that is happening.

“We are Nigerians and we have a good working relationship with our host communities. We are equally calling on the government to fish out those behind that publication. We are not part of this and we can never be part of it”.

While thanking the state governor for accepting them whole heartedly in the state, he revealed that they are more accepted in Delta than their state of origin, “We call on those behind this not to cause unnecessary tension because since yesterday and today, our Fulanis are panicking, they are thinking that the communities can attack them anytime. Whereas they don’t know what is happening”, he declared.

Those present at the briefing includes, Alhaji Musa Muhammed, the Sarki Fulani in the state, Alhaji Musa Muhammed, Chairman of Meyetti Allah in the state, Alhaji Abubakar Haruna, Alhaji Useni Haruna, Sarki, Asaba among others.
