Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited has urged communication scholars and professionals in Nigeria to deploy their intellectual expertise and professional platforms in the fight against crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism.
The appeal was made by Capt. Waredi Enisuoh, Executive Director of Operations and Technical, Tantita Security Services, while addressing participants at the 12th Annual Conference and AGM of the Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN), held September 3–4, 2025, at MBB Events Centre, Effurun, Delta State.
The conference, themed “Corruption, Governance and Media in Nigeria”, brought together communication experts, academics, and practitioners from across the country.
Capt. Enisuoh described crude oil theft as “one of the most destructive forms of corruption,” noting its adverse impact on governance, revenue generation, and community development.
He stressed that while security interventions have yielded significant results, the media and communication professionals must play a greater role in shaping public opinion, exposing criminal syndicates, and promoting transparency within Nigeria’s oil sector.
“The fight against oil theft goes beyond patrols and enforcement. It requires communication-driven advocacy that makes oil theft socially unacceptable and builds a culture of accountability,” Enisuoh said.
Highlighting the company’s achievements, he explained that Tantita Security’s operations in collaboration with security agencies and host communities had drastically reduced cases of crude oil theft, pipeline vandalism, and illegal bunkering across the Niger Delta.
He emphasized the need to sustain these gains through continuous awareness and collective action.
Capt. Enisuoh commended ACSPN for fostering critical discussions on corruption, governance, and media, urging scholars to extend their research and public enlightenment efforts to address the dangers of oil theft.
He reaffirmed Tantita Security’s commitment to partnering with stakeholders to safeguard Nigeria’s oil assets for the prosperity of all citizens.
