The Delta State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) and the Delta State Government, has announced a five-day capacity-building workshop on Curriculum Administration and Pedagogical Skills for 250 teachers drawn from the 25 local government areas of the state.
The training programme, titled “Curriculum Development and Processes,” is designed to strengthen teachers’ capacity to effectively analyse and utilise the curriculum to enhance day-to-day classroom delivery through appropriate learning experiences that drive improved learning outcomes.
In a joint statement, the Executive Chairman of the Delta SUBEB, Hon. (Barr.) Samuel Mariere, and the Director of the Teacher Professional Development Department, Mrs. Eru Ezefili, disclosed that the workshop will be residential.
According to the statement, the training is scheduled to hold from Monday, February 23 to Friday, February 28, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m. daily.
The venue is Gares Place Hotel, No. 174 Ughelli/Patani Road (beside AJ Eatery), Ughelli, Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State.
The organisers noted that the initiative underscores the commitment of SUBEB, UBEC, and the Delta State Government to continuous teacher professional development and improved learning standards in basic education across the state.
