The ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State has suffered a huge setback as three card-carrying members have resigned their membership of the party.

Those who dumped the PDP are Olorogun Pius Ovbije popularly known as POC, Vincent Sito and Olorogun Florence Akpoyibo-Ayomano, left the PDP for several reasons.

POC in his resignation letter dated 7th January 2023, wrote: “with joy and gladness in my heart, I Chief Pius Ovbije (POC), former Commissioner DESOPADEC and former Delta Central Coordinator, Delta Political Vanguard (DPV) hereby tender my resignation letter of my membership from PDP with effect from today 7th January 2023.

“The reason behind my resignation is the failure of the promise of PROSPERITY FOR ALL DELTANS that turned only to a particular family prosperity.

“And with the introduction of vexatious slogan and practice of “status quo remains”, that is unknown to democratic practice and the failure of Monkey work, Monkey chop promises”.

The letter was copied to Ughelli north LGA Chairman and the State chairman of the party, Kingsley Esiso.

Similarly, Sito, who was a Senior Special Assistant (SSA) Political, disclosed that he left the party due to the unbearing attitude of party leaders working to fill their pockets to the detriment of the party and its members.

“I hereby tender my resignation letter as your Senior Special Assistant Political (SSA).

“Your Excellency Sir, my resignation is as a result of the unbearing attitude of the party leaders who operates like a secret cult and their aim and objective is how to make money for their personal use and not for the interest of the party .

“Their interest is not how the party can win the election but their personal gain”, just as he appreciated the governor for the wonderful opportunity given to him to serve.

In another development, Akpoyibo-Ayomano, revealed that she left due to the gross marginalization and incessant intimidation of her followers.

Her letter dated 1st January 2023, states: “This is to notify you that effective from today 1st January 2023, I Olorogun Florence Akpoyibo-Ayomano, a former board member, Women Commission, Woman Leader Ughelli North LGA of the party and present Woman Leader, Elders and Leaders Forum, Ughelli North Chapter, seizes to be a member of the party due to the high level of gross marginalization, incessant intimidation of my teeming supporters and instigating neophytes politicians against me and my teeming supporters.

“I have taken a bow out of PDP to take my political ambition to a better party that appreciates the value of hard work and not like Monkey dey work, Baboo dey chop system of PDP”.

Her resignation letter was equally copied to the party chairman, Ughelli North LGA and the State chairman, Kingsley Esiso.
