Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has disclosed ongoing efforts to engage key political stakeholders, including former Governor Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, in a bid to consolidate peace and unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta North and across the state.
Senator Nwoko made this known on Sunday during a meeting with Delta North APC senatorial executives, nine local government area chairmen, and 98 ward chairmen at the Asaba residence of the Delta North APC Chairman, Ogbueishi Adizue Eluaka.
He emphasized that harmony and cohesion among party leaders were essential for both the growth of the APC and the development of Delta State.
“I am for peace and collaboration amongst party leaders in Delta North. Efforts are on to reach out to former governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, and Senator Peter Nwaoboshi.
“Also, I am in close contact with the Deputy Governor, Monday Onyeme, and talks are ongoing for mutual engagement,” Senator Nwoko stated.
The federal lawmaker also noted his ongoing collaboration with the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, stressing that beyond strengthening the APC, his focus was on fostering good governance for the benefit of the people.
Listing his interventions in the past two years, Senator Nwoko highlighted the provision of roads, water projects, and the rehabilitation of schools across Delta communities, alongside skill acquisition programmes and employment opportunities for constituents.
He further pointed to his legislative advocacy, including the push for the upgrade of the Federal College of Education, Asaba, into a full-fledged university, and the recent approval of a Federal University of Agriculture at Ute-Okpu by the Tinubu administration—both of which, he said, reflect his commitment to serving Delta North.
“I came to the National Assembly to effect positive change. My bills, motions, and constituency projects are all people-centered and designed to uplift Delta North,” he added.
In his remarks, Delta North APC Senatorial Chairman, Ogbueishi Adizue Eluaka, commended Senator Nwoko for his contributions to the party’s growth and the overall development of the senatorial district.
The meeting was attended by APC senatorial executives, the nine local government chairmen—Hon. Matthew Chinye (Aniocha North), Hon. Norbert Akachukwu Sochukwudinma (Aniocha South), Hon. Austin C. Nnabuife (Oshimili North), Hon. Dada Okolo (Oshimili South), Hon. Hilary Fada Ibude (Ika South), Hon. Samuel Ekene Kerry (Ika North East), Chief Oputa Kris (Ndokwa East), Hon. Dike Onah (Ndokwa West), and Churchill Ugoena Edem (Ukwuani), as well as 98 ward chairmen from across the district.
