Senator Ned Nwoko has conveyed warm greetings to Muslim faithful in Nigeria and across the world on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, marking the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan.
In a goodwill message commemorating the festival, the lawmaker congratulated adherents of Islam for the successful completion of the month-long fast, describing Ramadan as a sacred period defined by devotion, sacrifice, and deep spiritual reflection.
“I give thanks to Almighty Allah for granting us the strength, patience, and grace to complete the sacred month of Ramadan,” he stated, highlighting the discipline and resilience demonstrated by the faithful throughout the period.
Nwoko noted that Eid-el-Fitr transcends celebration, emphasizing its deeper significance as a reminder of shared responsibility toward one another and the wider society.
He stressed that the virtues nurtured during Ramadan—faith, humility, generosity, and unity, should remain guiding principles beyond the festivities.
“Eid is not merely a celebration; it is a call to sustain the enduring values of faith, humility, generosity, and unity,” he said.
“These principles must continue to guide our actions as we work toward building a more peaceful, inclusive, and prosperous nation.”
The senator called on Nigerians, irrespective of religious or ethnic background, to embrace tolerance, mutual respect, and compassion, particularly toward the less privileged.
Underscoring the importance of collective responsibility, he emphasized that unity remains central to achieving national cohesion and sustainable development.
Nwoko further urged citizens to use the occasion to pray for peace, security, and continued progress in the country, expressing optimism that Nigeria’s challenges can be overcome through resilience and faith.
“With unity, resilience, and faith, we will overcome our challenges and realise a brighter future for all,” he affirmed.
He concluded by wishing Muslims and their families a joyous and peaceful Eid celebration filled with blessings and renewed hope.
Eid-el-Fitr is celebrated globally by Muslims as the culmination of Ramadan, a month devoted to fasting, prayer, and acts of charity.
