Senator Ned Munir Nwoko, representing Delta North and Chancellor of the Sports University of Nigeria, celebrated the values of teamwork and resilience as the Special Guest of Honour at Command Day Secondary School Abuja’s 16th Annual Inter-House Sports Competition.

The event, held on February 18 at the Aguiyi Ironsi Cantonment Sports Complex, Abuja, brought together students, teachers, and military personnel for a day of vibrant competition and camaraderie.

Represented by his Chief of Staff, Dr. Michael Nwoko, the senator praised the school community for organizing such a spirited event.

He highlighted the critical role sports play in shaping young minds, building discipline, and fostering unity.

“I am honored to be part of this wonderful event. The enthusiasm and energy here are remarkable. Sports not only contribute to physical and mental well-being but also teach life’s essential values.

Winning or losing matters less than sportsmanship, hard work, and team spirit. In my eyes, you are all champions,” Senator Nwoko remarked.

He went on to commend the teachers and organizers for their dedication to the students’ holistic development and applauded the military officers for ensuring that education at the school extends beyond academics to include sports and physical activities.

Dr. Michael Nwoko, speaking further on behalf of the senator, reiterated Nwoko’s commitment to sports development in Nigeria.

He mentioned that the Sports University of Nigeria is open to collaborating with the school to identify and nurture young athletic talents, reinforcing a vision where education and sports go hand in hand.
