The family of Late Chief Atuyota Omene of Akpobome-Mosogar in Ethiope west local government area of Delta State has called on the federal, state including relevant authorities come to their aide and save them from the hands of one Mr. Mariere Omene over their late father’s land and also call the Inspector General of Police Squad to order.

Narrating how it all started, Chief Evans Atuyota Omene, one of the sons of Late Chief Samuel Atuyota Omene also known as Samuel Uruetse Origheyegha Omene , told newsmen that, Chief Samuel Atuyota Omene, Chief Oboyi Omene and Chief Usor are same father and children of Origheyegha.

According to him, Chief Iboyi Omene gave birth to London Omene and in 1975, London Omene met his father and a meeting between himself, Usor Omene and his father, Chief Samuel Atuyota Omene was held on the request of Chief Iboyi Omene that one of his sons, Mr. London Omene needed land to build an industry.

As one family, individually, they donated the needed land for this purpose to build the industry with a promise by London Omene to award contracts to them and also to employ their Children in the company.

Unfortunately, these promises were not fulfilled.

After some years, in 1985,  again, London Omene requested that Chief  Evans Atuyota Omene’s father, Chief Samuel Atuyota Omene should give him other parts of the land for expansion of his said industry which Chief Samuel Atuyota Omene refused on the ground that Mr. London Omene did not fufil his earlier promise.

It was gathered that Mr. London Omene insisted on taking the land and the matter was brought before the Omene family headed by Chief Inikomotsan Omene and it was decided that Mr. London should build 12 rooms and parlor as requested by Chief Samuel Atuyota Omene or an equivalent land be provided.

In a bid for Mr. London Omene to take the land at all cost, initiated a court case with all his father’s children, Chief Iboyi and Usor Children as plaintiffs and
Chief Samuel Omene their only brother as defendant and according to him, it’s a sign of oppression.

It was larnt that while the case was still on at Oghara , London Omene alleged Chief Evans Atuyota Omene’s father, Samuel Atuyota Omene for robbery and he was arrested to state CID in Benin in 1988 and later release in 1989 for lack of  merit, and no case to answer by the DPP in Benin.

With the reprobate spirit in him and still not satisfied with his ungodly acts, London Omene again alleged Chief Samuel Atuyota Omene for another armed Robbery in 1989 and was remanded in Okere prison and was discharged and acquitted in 1991.

The lawyer was Chief Efe Akpofure
(SAN) and the Judge was Justice Unurhoro.

Now, both London Omene and Chief Samuel Atuyota Omene are dead and the children of late Mr. London Omene headed by Mariere Omene and his siblings are selling Chief Samuel Atuyota Omene’s land.

It was garthered that those Mariere sold to include: Mr. Morah Okechuwku and one Hon. Prince Adegor.

Unknown to Late Chief Samuel Atuyota Omene’s children headed by Chief Evans Omene when they sold part of their late father’s land, Mr. Okechuwku and Adegor now arrested Chief Evans Atuyota Omene and his siblings to the Sapele Area Command and later invited to IG’s Offfice, Abuja on 20/12/2021 on another allegation.

During a media interactive session with journalists, Chief Evans Atuyota Omene said that police have been embarrassing his family every now and then.

His words ” As I speak, police from Abuja are terrorizing us for no just course. We now live in fear and we appeal for Justice as police wouldn’t allow us sleep in our houses”, he stated.

Chief. Evans Atuyota Omene therefore called on the Federal, State, local government and Mosogar/Akpobome community
as a matter of urgency come to their aide as IG’s squard are  terrorising them unjustly.

Efforts to reach Mariere Omene and others for comments prove abortive as at the time of filling in this report.
