The maiden graduation ceremony of OSAP that attracted parents, Community Leaders, Clergymen, Trainees, Accord Party faithful was held at Oguname-Olomu in Ughelli South LGA of Delta State, recently.

In a homily by Pastor Owumi, of Isaiah 61 Ministry, on the power of Unity, noted that the act of Hon. Osiobe for creating a platform of hope for the youths, has not been seen in the recent time.

According to him, “we are used to politicians throwing money around during elections but Osiobe is creating platforms for our youths to know how to fish.

Pst. Owumi charged all to work in unity with Hon. Osiobe.

In an interview, the Graceman, Revd Udumebraye Dave Osiobe, disclosed that this was the first graduation of the Osiobe Skills Acquisition Programme (OSAP).

The House of Assembly candidate, disclosed that over 50 able-bodied youths of Ughelli South most especially Olomu Kingdom have been trained on how to produce perfume, liquid soap, baking of cake, production of pop corn, interior decoration, make-up artist, and other skills.

The African Church Clergyman said other youths are still undergoing training in tailoring, hair dressing, beautician, and in other areas.

Osiobe further added that if given the opportunity to serve at the Delta State House of Assembly, he would expand the Skills Acquisition Programme to accommodate x-ray welding, welding and fabrication, automobile engineering, electrical engineering, nursing and other expensive skills.

When asked why he is embarking on this expensive venture without government support or external sponsor, he said most parents want to have their children trained on different skills but the resources are not available.

“So, I decided to take it upon himself to train these youths on how to fish instead of giving them fish”.

He added that the youths trained free of charge are not only members of Accord Party but cut across other parties and some of the youths are not up to voting age so the training has no political affiliation but a passion.

On his political ambition, Revd Osiobe said he is going to the House to change the political tune of money politics without impacting on the electorate.

He further revealed that his focus would be on how to empower more youths as he has started with the Skills Acquisition Programme.

He said he has equally sent some youths back to school even to the level of the m tertiary institution through his scholarship Programme.

Responding on behalf of the parents, Comrade Stanley Otobrise, said the parents were grateful to Revd Osiobe for coming to their aid and prayed God to bless him and grant him success in his political aspiration.

On their part Mrs. Abraham and Bridget Dada, the trainers thank Revd Osiobe for the opportunity given to them to train many youths in Olomu Kingdom on their profession. On the trainees the trainers commended their effort and their speed to catch-up with the work.

They added some of their trainees are already earning a living through the skills they have acquired.

Responding on behalf of the trainee, Miss Faith said they were grateful to Revd Osiobe for empowering them with different skills to earning a living and prayed God to bless him.

High point of the ceremony was the presentation of certificates and starter pack to the graduants and the practical demonstration of different Skills by the trainee.
