Report reaching The Story, desk has it that the authority of the Nigerian Police Force, Delta State Command, has allegedly detained the police team who teargas a yet to be identified young girl along Mosogar-Oghara Bridge, causing her alleged death.
According to a post on Facebook by Sapele Matters, a Facebook page, alleged that the girl could not survive as she was an asthmatic patient.
‘We get report now say the girl nor survive the tear gas, as her ailment (Asthma) shoot up beyond recovery”, Sapele Matters, a Facebook page, posted after the incident.
According to the post, “After we make this post this morning and expose the Oghara Division of Nigeria Police Force over how dem tear-gas one girl wey be asthmatic patient for one Siena Bus along Oghara/Mosogar Express way.
‘Immediately we update the news, the thing go viral. We even received calls wey one goat dey threaten he head say make we drop the post.
“However, the Nigeria Police Force Delta State Command don order for the arrest of all the Policemen wey do that unprofessional act.
“Our studio don confirm am and dem say all of dem dey cell. “However, we norva fit ascertain fully the current status of the victim health. We go keep unu posted”, it assured.
Few minutes later, in what looks like an update in a fresh post, Sapele Matters, posted: “We get report now say the girl nor survive the tear gas, as her ailment (Asthma) shoot up beyond recovery”.
Contacted to respond to the detention of the police team, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Edafe Bright, through a WhatsApp message, said: “Better have concrete evidence to defend ur headline, that’s all I have to tell u”.
