PLAGIARISM: Omo-Agege Copycats Gbagi’s Campaign #LiberateDelta Slogan

The struggle to reclaim his battered image, if there was one, after the National Assembly alleged mace saga, the Deputy Senate President and Senator, representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ovie Omo-Agege, has again been caught in the web of plagiarism, having ‘stolen’ the campaign slogan of his counterpart in the Social Democratic Party (SDP), His Excellency, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, OON.

Omo-Agege, who is the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State copied verbatim the #Liberate Delta, an intellectual work of Gbagi, a frontline gubernatorial candidate in the March 11 contest.

It was shocking to Gbagi and his teeming supporters in the state that a flag-bearer of a third-force political party could not conceptualize his own ideas and sell same to Deltans ahead of the election in March this year but effortlessly copied the manifesto of Gbagi without the slightest attribution or reference to the originator.

On November 17th 2022, Omo-Agege, at a world press conference to unveil his candidacy and manifesto in Asaba, the state capital stole the campaign slogan of Gbagi, a renowned Criminologist, which he sold to Deltans since 2019 when he started consultation.

Gbagi, when he joined SDP also adopted the party’s slogan of a social movement, which Omo-Agege equally copied.

The Delta Central Senator at that briefing on item “3” of his address, said his aspiration is beyond the ordinary quest for power, rather, it is a “movement” to “liberate”, the State.

Similarly, on item “29” of that same brief, Omo-Agege, again used Gbagi’s industrialization mantra, when he said to kick start the real development of the State, our administration would focus on massive “industrialization”, “free and compulsory basic education”, among other things.

In same vein, in his New Year message to Deltans, Omo-Agege, again told Deltans to reflect on how to “liberate” and salvage our dear State.

Omo-Agege, in his supposedly position could not put together ideas to showcase what he would do as a governor of a highly respected oil-rich Delta State.

Omo-Agege, with his office, could not draw the attention of the APC-led federal government to the dilapidated federal roads in Delta State for eight years. This is an abysmal failure.

Then, he like the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Sheriff Oborevwori, are not qualified to govern the State.

Oborevworiz, no doubt is a no go area for Delta State, because he simply means incompetence and a rubber stamp Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA), over-sighting nothing in the past five years.

Deltans must reject leaders like Omo-Agege and Oborevwori who will not be independent of Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and the APC cabals that brought us to this sorry state at the national and state levels.

After betraying the entire southern Nigeria, there are strong indications that monies meant for the development of Delta State are now being channeled to fund the ill-fated ambition of Okowa to become Vice President of Nigeria.

Oborevwori is a stooge of Okowa, who would be a major disaster in Government House, as Gbagi has said severally that Okowa who lacks ideas, lies with perfidy, is only seeking a third term.

Omo-Agege and Oborevwori lacks what it takes to move Delta State from the present decay, indebtedness, unemployment and insecurity that is bedeviling the State.

No doubt, the SDP governorship candidate, the former Chairman, Legal Aid Council of Nigeria and former Chairman, Delta Development Property Authority (DDPA), Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi OON, FNIM, is the answer to the challenges facing the State.

Gbagi, has promised to liberate Delta by declaring a state of emergency in the education sector by giving free education to all Deltans from basic to higher institution.

The largest private investor in the state, has promised to pay all gratuities owned pensioners in his first 200 days in office.

Gbagi, an entrepreneurial expert, has promised to pay N30, 000 minimum wage to all unemployed Deltans while computing them and making available spaces for them in their various skills and expertise to be gainfully employed.

Let us join hands with a First Class product, a respected Deltan and a nationalist, a security expert, a great Urhobo and national patriot, a youth friendly and policy oriented governor, His Excellency Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi OON, FNIM to liberate Delta State.
