Former Delta State Commissioner, Mr. Omamofe Pirah, has lauded the Executive Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for the successful completion of the historic 20.95 km Trans-Warri–Ode-Itsekiri Road, a landmark project featuring 15 bridges of varying spans, achieved 19 years after it was initially awarded.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Pirah described the milestone as “a monumental breakthrough and a long-awaited blessing for the Itsekiri nation.”

He praised Governor Oborevwori for demonstrating uncommon political will, financial prudence, and an unwavering commitment to inclusive development, noting that the completion of the project has transformed a decades-old aspiration into a tangible reality.

“The people of the Itsekiri nation, who have awaited this vital connection for nearly two decades, now have every reason to celebrate,” Pirah stated.

He emphasized that the project not only enhances regional connectivity but also symbolizes continuity, stability, and the dividends of responsive governance.

Highlighting the significance of sustained leadership, Pirah called on the Itsekiri people to rally behind Governor Oborevwori in his second-term bid in 2027, pointing to his administration’s achievements within a remarkably short period as evidence of visionary governance.

The former Commissioner also extended warm congratulations to the immediate past Governor, His Excellency Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, on his recent appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, as Lead Coordinator, South-South, of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).

Describing Okowa’s appointment as “well-deserved and reflective of his proven leadership, experience, and enduring commitment to national development,”

Pirah expressed confidence that the former governor would deploy his wisdom, humility, and administrative competence to advance the objectives of the RHI for the collective benefit of the South-South region.
