Delta State Information Commissioner Designate, Dr. Ifeanyi Michael Osuoza a.k.a Mr. Agenda has urged journalists in the State to keep hope alive as a new chapter of practice has just begun.
He gave this charge while addressing members of the fourth estate of the realm immediately after being screened and confirmed by members of the Delta State House of Assembly on Tuesday 30th January, 2024.
Osuoza who also showed understanding to the plight of the State owned media houses when he was asked questions with regards to their upgrade, affirmed that he has knowledge of the challenges with Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS), Warri and Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS), Asaba and would work to fix those challenges.
The newly appointed Commissioner was once a Board Chairman to DBS Warri and at another time, Chairman of DBS Asaba; and those periods were believed to have afforded him the opportunity to adequately understand what the needs are for the broadcast stations and how to provide them.
However, journalists in the State are happy that the long awaited appointment has finally happened and of course, the personality on the saddle to man the Ministry is a known face with down to earth relationship with media practitioners in the State and beyond.
Meanwhile, the inauguration ceremony of Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza as Commissioner for Information, alongside Ekemejero Ohwovoriole SAN as Honourable Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, and Mr. Kalanama Penawou as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs has been fixed for Thursday 1st February, 2024, in Government House by the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.
