The Obi Martha Dunkwu Foundation (OMDF), a non-governmental organisation committed to leadership development, growth consciousness, and the empowerment of the girl-child in Anioma Nation, has congratulated Major General Raymond Nkem Ochei (rtd) on his retirement from the Nigerian Army.

Major General Ochei formally bowed out of active military service during his Passing Out Parade (POP) held on Friday, February 6, 2026, in Lagos, bringing to a close a distinguished and meritorious career in the Nigerian Army.

In a statement jointly signed by the Acting Chairman and Secretary of the Foundation, Dr. Afamefuna Dunkwu-Okafor and Comrade Patrick Ochei, respectively, OMDF commended the retired senior officer for his exemplary service to the nation and his enduring contributions to community-centred development across Anioma Nation.

The Foundation described Major General Ochei as a gallant, disciplined, and patriotic officer who served Nigeria with honour, integrity, and unwavering dedication, noting that his career brought pride not only to the Nigerian Army but also to Anioma Nation and beyond.

“We are proud of the illustrious son we have in Major General Raymond Nkem Ochei, who has completed his service to the Nigerian Army with an unblemished record of discipline, commitment, and patriotism,” the statement said.

According to OMDF, Major General Ochei will be long remembered for his impeccable service record and his deep sense of responsibility to his people, particularly his consistent support for community development and human capacity building.

The Foundation also recalled the strong relationship between the retired officer and its founder, Her Royal Majesty, Obi Martha Dunkwu (Omu Anioma) of blessed memory, noting that Major General Ochei honoured and supported her vision with exceptional dedication during her lifetime.

“This Foundation will continue to recognise and celebrate him and his contributions in the years ahead. We are indeed proud of him,” the statement added.

OMDF further wished Major General Ochei success and fulfilment in his post-military life, praying for divine wisdom, strength, and resources to enable him pursue his future endeavours.

Major General Raymond Nkem Ochei (rtd), an indigene of Onicha-Olona in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, retired as a uniquely distinguished officer, being the only serving military officer in West Africa at the rank of Major General to hold two doctoral degrees (PhDs).
