The crisis rocking the Delta State chapter of civil society organizations otherwise known as Human Rights Activist Community, has taken another turn with the alleged sales of a Hilux Van donated by the state government under the watch of Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, to the group to checkmate police brutality across the State.
The Story, learnt that the fresh crisis in the state Civil Society Organizations, arose from the hiring of the Hilux Van to an oil company (name withheld) in Edjeba, Warri, at the cost of N15, 000 daily instead of the initial purpose for the Hilux Van.
According to our impeccable source, the vehicle was donated to the group during the #EndSars period which led to the brutality of innocent citizens by operatives of the Nigerian Police Force, Delta State Command in a report submitted by the Judicial Panel of Enquiry.
Our insider source said the Hilux Van, was given to Civil Society Organizations which has a representation in the Human Rights Committee for the Protection of the Rights of Citizens inaugurated on Wednesday 20th October 2021 in Government House, Asaba.
It was reliably gathered that the energy firm pays the said sum into a Zenith Bank account number 10157***** amounting to N465, 000 annually.
