Ahead of the 2023 general election in Delta State, the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Isoko north local government area of the state, has threatened a boycott if the state governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and the party leadership continue to ignore those that have worked and dole out appointments to new comers who defected to the party recently.

The threat is coming barely one month after the state Publicity Secretary of the party, Ifeanyi Osuoza, in a statement announced a Pace Reconciliation Committee In a bid to put its house in order by addressing irreconcilable differences that are capable of tearing the party apart before the 2023 general elections.

A source disclosed that members of the party in the council are unhappy over the development, a situation that has pitched them against the leaders of the party in the area and some local government areas who took such decision to their detriment.

The source said: “let me tell you if I say all is well in Isoko north, I am lying because the boys are angry. The people they are fighting with on social media, once they defect to the party, they are given appointments and these boys are not given.

“In Isoko, we believe in action. We don’t do things anyhow. We believe in practicals. If this is how they are going to be treated I cannot guarantee their working for the party, I must be frank to you.

“Right now, there is agitation and serious apprehension in Isoko north because of this situation. People who have been in the party are neglected and people who just came yesterday are given appointments, this is not good”, the source said.
