Former Governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, has once again demonstrated his leadership acumen and unifying spirit as he called on leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta North Senatorial District to close ranks, deepen unity, and consolidate the party’s grassroots strength for future electoral victories.

Speaking at the Delta North APC leadership meeting held in Obiaruku, Ukwuani Local Government Area, Dr. Okowa commended the people of Ukwuani for their warm reception and impressive turnout.

He described the event as a reflection of renewed energy and collective commitment within the party, adding that the atmosphere of camaraderie signaled a new beginning for the APC in the district.

Dr. Okowa expressed delight at the growing cohesion among leaders and followers, stressing that unity remains the foundation of every successful political movement.

He encouraged the party to sustain the current momentum through regular meetings, consultations, and strategic planning aimed at consolidating its base and strengthening its electoral prospects.

The former governor emphasized the centrality of grassroots participation in building a formidable political structure.

He urged leaders across wards and local governments to focus on the ongoing voter and membership registration exercises, noting that mobilization at the grassroots remains the bedrock of political success.

According to him, “No political structure can thrive without the people. Our strength lies in our numbers and the active involvement of every member at the ward level.”

While commending the steady progress of the APC membership registration, Dr. Okowa called for intensified efforts to expand the party’s reach across the senatorial district.

He explained that increased membership not only strengthens the party’s electoral chances but also gives citizens a sense of belonging and empowerment in the democratic process.

Dr. Okowa also reminded party faithful that true leadership is rooted in service and connection with the people, not in titles or positions.

He noted that while some leaders may have held high offices, the real strength of the party lies in those who work tirelessly at the grassroots.

“Leadership at the top means little without those who hold the base together,” he said, urging mutual respect, cooperation, and bridge-building among party leaders.

Addressing speculations of disunity within the APC, Dr. Okowa dismissed such claims as baseless. He affirmed that he harbours no grievances against anyone and remains open to sincere dialogue with all party stakeholders.

He specifically mentioned maintaining cordial relationships with Senator Peter Nwaoboshi and other leaders across Delta North, emphasizing that collective progress outweighs personal differences.

Reiterating that humility and accessibility define authentic leadership, Dr. Okowa stated that he sees himself as equal to every party member, including the youth at the grassroots.

He urged leaders to relate with everyone, build trust, and prioritize inclusivity, a sentiment that drew resounding applause from the audience.

The former governor reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to strengthening the APC in Delta State.

He cautioned against personal ambitions that could undermine the party’s unity, stressing that the immediate focus should be on building a robust and united structure ahead of forthcoming elections.

“Personal interests can wait; the party must come first,” he declared.

The Obiaruku meeting, which attracted prominent APC leaders, stakeholders, and grassroots mobilizers from across Delta North, was described as a historic and unifying milestone for the party.

Participants hailed Dr. Okowa’s address as both inspirational and strategic, commending his humility, clarity, and renewed dedication to the growth and success of the APC in Delta State.
