The Odu Oma Club of Nigeria has extended warm congratulations to Senator Ned Nwoko and members of the Technical Committee on the Creation of Anioma State, applauding the significant strides made toward the long-standing aspiration of establishing Anioma as Nigeria’s 37th state.
In a statement jointly signed by the club’s President, Mr. Patrick Ogbogu Okenyi, Secretary, Mr. Uche Emma Aboh, and Publicity Secretary, the club commended the relentless dedication of the Anioma Senator and the committee members, whose advocacy and groundwork have brought renewed momentum to the statehood movement.
The club also lauded the contributions of stakeholders who made strong, well-articulated presentations during the recent South-South Zonal Public Hearing held in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State.
“The renewed call for Anioma State, backed by clear articulation and united voices, is a testament to the resilience and unity of our people,” the club’s leadership stated.
Established over four decades ago, the Odu Oma Club of Nigeria has consistently played a prominent role in championing the cause of Anioma State creation.
The club reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to this pursuit, emphasizing that the effort reflects a vision anchored in equity, justice, and rightful inclusion within the Nigerian federation.
“This milestone is not just a political achievement, but a historic testament to the enduring will of Anioma sons and daughters,” the statement added.
Expressing optimism about the future, the group maintained that with strategic engagement, unity of purpose, and continued collaboration among all stakeholders, the long-cherished dream of Anioma State will soon become a reality.
The club concluded by congratulating Senator Prince Ned Nwoko, the technical committee, and all contributors to what it described as a “great and noble cause”, pledging its continued support in the collective journey toward statehood for Anioma people.
