In the wake of rising national issues, the Wife of the Delta State Governor, Dcns Tobore Oborevwori has called on Christians to intensify prayers for the state and nation in view of desired changes.
Dcns Oborevwori made the call yestersday while receiving, on a courtesy visit, members of the Christian Women Intercessors For All Nations (CWIFAN) and Pastors Forum for Sustainable Development at her office.
Addressing the group of Christian women, she had said, “When the righteous is in authority, the people rejoice but when the wicked rule, the people mourn.
“My husband, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has a heart to do more for Delta State and we need your prayers to achieve this vision.
“I’m always happy to see women who hold on to God and serve Him and I want to encourage you to keep praying and standing in the gap for the state because we need God’s intervention in the happenings of the nation.”
Dcns Oborevwori further called on the ground to be a part of her Pet Project, the You Matter Charity Foundation, so as to impact more lives, lifting more persons from obscurity to limelight.
The leader of the women and the vision Coordinator of the fellowship, Dr Augusta Ogbene said the group had always desired to identify with the first lady.
“One of our primary mandates is to stand in the gap for Delta State and the nation at large and we will continue to live up to that mandate.
“We want to encourage you, as the First Lady, to see yourself as the Deborah of our time. God has not given you this position to fulfill destiny and affect times.
“We pray God gives you the courage to let your vision continue to run in your mind because in the long run, you’re going to take account of the position of authority He has given you.”
The group prayed for the First Lady and the state and went ahead to present gifts to her.
The second group, Pastors Forum for Sustainable Development led by Bishop Jude Akhere encouraged her to be strong in her vision and faith in God.
