The Chairman of the Nigerian Majority Leaders’ Forum/Majority Leader of Delta State House of Assembly and member representing Aniocha North Constituency, Hon. Engr. Emeka Emmanuel Nwaobi has said that the victory of the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori at the Supreme Court is the best birthday gift he has received.
Hon. Nwaobi made this statement amidst the Supreme Court declaration of Governor Oborevwori as the authentic and right winner of the Governorship Election of March 18, 2023.
The APC candidate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, the SDP candidate, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi and LP candidate, Olorogun Ken Pela had respectively pursued a case against Governor Oborevwori right from the Tribunal to Appeal Court and now Supreme Court, challenging his victory; but in all, the verdicts had always been in favour for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
While reacting to the Supreme Court verdict from Abuja, being the finality of the case, Hon. Nwaobi posited that he was satisfied with the judgment, thereby regarding the judgement as his best birthday gift, an anniversary which was marked on Wednesday 17th January, 2024.
According to him, “This is the time to sing and dance to the glory of GOD.
“I thank GOD for His mercy. The case has now come to a close, and we can now go back to work and sincerely serve the people that voted us to power. We were distracted but we can never be deterred.
“I congratulate my Boss and Governor for this resounding victory; and of course, to the good people of Delta State, I say thank you for your consistency of prayers and support.
“This is a win for all Deltans. Together, we can now speedily activate the M.O.R.E Agenda to serve the people of Delta State”, Nwaobi affirmed.
