Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has been described as a divinely ordained leader whose people-centred governance and commitment to institutional development are laying a strong foundation for a sustainable and transformative Delta State.

The commendation was given by the Parish Priest of St. Williams Catholic Church, Orerokpe, Rev. Fr. Peter Awharemuire, during the 70th Thanksgiving Mass of Lady Doris Onoriode Ejinyere, which the Governor attended as a special guest.

Delivering a homily drawn from Jeremiah 29:10–14, Rev. Fr. Awharemuire said Governor Oborevwori’s emergence as Chief Executive of the state was neither accidental nor incidental, but part of a divine purpose unfolding in Delta State.

According to the cleric, the Governor’s leadership has been marked by visible progress across key sectors, including infrastructure, education, healthcare, security and community development, which he described as clear evidence of purposeful and guided governance.

He noted that confidence had been restored among citizens, communities had become safer, and lives and property were better protected, attributing these gains to focused and intentional leadership.

Rev. Fr. Awharemuire further observed that the Oborevwori administration stands out for its emphasis on sustainability, stressing that the Governor is not only executing physical projects but deliberately building enduring systems that will outlive his tenure.

He said the ongoing transformation in Delta State was designed to serve not just the present population, but generations yet unborn, adding that the administration’s approach reflects long-term thinking and responsible governance.

Describing the Governor as a leader of uncommon courage, the priest stated that the achievements recorded so far had already secured a lasting place for him in the political history of the state.

He added that the Church and the people of Delta State were proud of Governor Oborevwori’s leadership style, which he said is defined by humility, justice, inclusiveness and service.

While commending the Governor’s strides, Rev. Fr. Awharemuire advised him to continue to lead with wisdom, humility and caution, assuring him of the Church’s continued prayers for divine guidance, peace and stability in the state.

He also offered prayers for the celebrant, Lady Doris Ejinyere, whom he described as a just and fair-minded woman.

In his remarks, Governor Oborevwori congratulated Lady Ejinyere on her 70th birthday, describing her as a woman of integrity, strength and unwavering commitment to family and service to the state.

The Governor said he had known her for many years through different phases of life and service, describing her as upright, principled and dependable, noting that her firmness is rooted in sincerity and love.

He expressed delight at the unity displayed by the Ejinyere family during the thanksgiving service, noting that the celebration reflected the enduring power of faith and strong family values.

Governor Oborevwori prayed for Lady Ejinyere’s continued blessings, long life, good health and peace, while acknowledging her sacrifices and lifelong dedication to her family and community.

In her response, Lady Ejinyere expressed deep gratitude to her family, friends and well-wishers for their support and kindness over the years.

She paid special tribute to Governor Oborevwori, praising his compassion, sacrifices and steadfast support to her family, and described his achievements as evident and impactful across the state.
