Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori’s aide, Hon. Charles Buluku, Special Assistant (SA), on Community Development, alongside 47 other distinguished indigenes of Ewu-Urhobo Kingdom, in Ughelli south local government area has been conferred with chieftaincy titles by His Royal Majesty (HRM), King Clement Ikolo, Urhukpe I, the monarch of Ewu-Urhobo Kingdom.
The honour, according to the monarch, was in recognition of their exceptional contributions to the peace, unity, and development of the kingdom.
The colourful conferment ceremony, held at the royal palace in Ewu, was graced by eminent personalities, including the Pere of Akugbene Mein Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Pere Kalanama VIII, as well as clergymen, traditional and community leaders.
Among those honoured were the Chairman of Ughelli South Local Government Council, Hon. Lucky Avweromre, who received the title Okugbe of Ewu Kingdom; Olorogun Charles Buluku, Special Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, honoured as the Esemugboja of Ewu Kingdom; and Olorogun Harvest Waka, conferred with the title Erhi of Ewu Kingdom, among others.
In his royal address, HRM Urhukpe I explained that the awardees were thoroughly screened and selected from all quarters of the Ewu-Urhobo Kingdom to ensure fairness, balance, and inclusiveness.
He emphasized that the conferment ceremony was not only a recognition of service but also an encouragement to continue contributing meaningfully to the growth and stability of the kingdom.
The monarch charged the newly installed chiefs to uphold the values of unity, peace, and selfless service, urging them to work hand-in-hand with the palace in promoting harmony and development across Ewu land.
In his goodwill message, the Pere of Akugbene Mein Kingdom, HRM Kalanama VIII, lauded the Ovie of Ewu for his wisdom and commitment to the advancement of traditional leadership.
He further called on the new chiefs to support their monarch’s vision of unity and peaceful coexistence.
Speaking on behalf of the honourees, Hon. Avweromre, Olorogun Buluku, and Olorogun Waka expressed deep appreciation to HRM Urhukpe I and the people of Ewu-Urhobo Kingdom for the recognition.
They pledged to remain steadfast in serving the kingdom and supporting initiatives that foster its progress and development.
The event climaxed with the pronouncement of Archbishop Jonathan Ojigbo as the Spiritual Leader of Ewu-Urhobo Kingdom by HRM Urhukpe I, a symbolic move aimed at strengthening the spiritual foundation and unity of the kingdom.

Oborévwori, Evangelist Charles Buluku, was set to be honoured with a prestigious traditional title by His Royal Majesty, Clement O. Ikolo, Urhupke I, the Ovie of Ewu-Urhobo Kingdom but the event was postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.
