Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has delivered a forceful response to critics, declaring that his administration will counter baseless attacks with visible, life-changing projects that directly impact Deltans.
Speaking through his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, at the inauguration of the Boji-Boji Owa Mixed Modern Market in Ika North-East Local Government Area, Oborevwori dismissed the opposition as mere noisemakers who thrive only on social media while failing to recognize the tangible development happening across the state.
“The opposition can continue to make noise online, but our people see, feel, and benefit from the projects we have executed in their communities,” he stated firmly. “We do not engage in empty rhetoric—we deliver results.
Oborevwori reinforced his commitment to infrastructure, economic growth, and community welfare, emphasizing that his administration remains focused on action rather than distractions from detractors.
As part of this commitment, he immediately ordered the closure of the old abattoir at Boji-Boji Owa Market, directing traders to utilize the newly built, state-of-the-art facility designed to improve hygiene and boost commerce.
“This market, strategically located on the banks of the Orogodo River, serves as a bridge between the SMART agenda of the past administration and the progressive M.O.R.E. vision we champion today,” he explained. “We will not allow outdated infrastructure to hinder the advancement of our people”.
Oborevwori asserted that his administration’s investments in trade and infrastructure are creating jobs, stimulating innovation, and enhancing livelihoods.
He called on traders and artisans to seize the opportunities provided by the modernized market, urging them to engage in legitimate business practices that will benefit the entire state.
“Our commitment is to build infrastructure that supports trade and investment,” he declared. “This is not just a market, it is a symbol of economic empowerment and community transformation.”
Hon. Marilyn Okowa-Daramola, representing Ika North-East in the Delta State House of Assembly, praised Oborevwori’s vision, revealing that the market was once a waste dump site before being transformed into a commercial hub.
“Our Governor saw our need, heard our voice, and responded with action,” she remarked. “Through the MORE Agenda, Delta State is witnessing unprecedented development.”
Sir Festus Ogbanzu and Hon. Monday Odigwe, among other community leaders, echoed this sentiment, applauding the Governor for his unwavering dedication to people-oriented projects.
Governor Oborevwori has thrown down the gauntlet—his administration will not be swayed by political gimmicks or social media propaganda. Instead, his leadership will be defined by visible, verifiable, and transformative projects that uplift the lives of Deltans.
