Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has extolled the Olu of Warri, His Royal Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, for his visionary leadership, cultural renaissance, and contributions to peace and development across the state.
The Governor spoke at the Aghofen Palace grounds in Warri during a homage-paying ceremony marking the Monarch’s 4th coronation anniversary.
Represented by the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, who led a high-powered state delegation, Oborevwori described Ogiame Atuwatse III’s reign as a beacon of peace, unity, and purposeful leadership.
“Since ascending the revered throne in August 2021, Your Majesty has shown that traditional leadership, when anchored on vision and integrity, can be a powerful instrument for transformation,” Oborevwori said.
He commended the Monarch for fostering harmony in the Warri Kingdom, championing equity and justice, and projecting the progressive ideals of the Itsekiri nation with cultural pride and global relevance.
The Governor further highlighted Ogiame Atuwatse III’s efforts in forging bilateral partnerships and attracting investments, positioning Warri as a rising economic hub in alignment with the State Government’s M.O.R.E Agenda, which emphasizes Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security.
Reaffirming his administration’s support for the traditional institution, Oborevwori noted: “The tranquility of Warri Kingdom under your reign has provided a foundation upon which we continue to expand infrastructure, empower communities, and drive sustainable development across Delta State.”
He extended heartfelt congratulations to the Monarch and the Itsekiri nation, praying that the Olu’s reign continues to bring unity, light, and progress to Warri Kingdom, Delta State, and Nigeria at large.
The ceremony attracted dignitaries from across the country, including members of the National and State Assemblies, Federal and State Executive Councils, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and well-wishers.
The celebrations featured cultural performances, traditional music, and tributes honoring the Olu’s enduring commitment to the welfare of his people.
