There was an atmosphere of celebration and deep appreciation as Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, visited the Ohoror-Bomadi axis to inspect the ongoing transformation of a once perilous road project now fast becoming a symbol of hope and progress.
The 46-kilometre stretch, which traverses key local government areas including Ughelli North, Ughelli South, Patani, Burutu, and Bomadi, was previously described by locals as a “death trap” due to its deplorable condition.
Today, it stands as a testament to the Oborevwori administration’s focus on infrastructure renewal and regional connectivity.
Residents lined the now-passable road early in the day, brimming with excitement and gratitude.
The atmosphere was charged with chants of “Governor Good Eh, “Governor Good Eh”, “Sheriff Good Eh!” as the governor’s convoy pulled in.
Flags waved, banners soared, and cameras captured the moment Governor Oborevwori, beaming with his signature calm demeanor, stepped out to greet the jubilant crowd.
Among the many capturing the vibrant moment was media aide Ossai Ovie Success, who documented the warm reception and the clear transformation of the terrain.
Addressing the crowd, Governor Oborevwori reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to reaching underserved communities and restoring critical infrastructure across Delta State.
The applause that followed was more than ceremonial, it was heartfelt.
For the people of Bomadi and surrounding areas, this project is more than asphalt and gravel, it’s about mobility, economic growth, access to healthcare and education, and above all, dignity.
The road, once a symbol of neglect, now embodies promise.
As the governor departed amid continued chants of praise, one thing was clear: the bond between the people and their leader had been freshly cemented, this time, not just by words, but by action.
