Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to working closely with the Church and other faith-based institutions to promote peace, moral renewal, and social development across the state.

Governor Oborevwori made the pledge at the dedication of the Isoko Christian House in Oleh, headquarters of Isoko South Local Government Area, on Friday, November 14, 2025.

Represented by the Commissioner for Special Duties, Government House, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, the governor said: “He was represented at the ceremony by the Commissioner for Special Duties (Government House), Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza.

Describing the newly dedicated Isoko Christian House as a “sanctuary of unity, worship, and purpose,” the Governor said the edifice stands as a testament to the enduring faith, resilience, and collective vision of the Isoko Christian community.

He commended the Isoko Christian Leaders Forum, the Isoko chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), and other faith-based groups whose collaboration made the project possible, noting that their efforts have produced not only a house of prayer but a lasting symbol of harmony, strength, and hope for future generations.

“As Governor of Delta State, I am deeply inspired by this initiative. It reminds us that when the body of Christ stands united, no challenge is insurmountable,” Oborevwori said.

He reaffirmed the state government’s readiness to continue partnering with the Church and other religious institutions in fostering peace, providing moral direction, and supporting social transformation across Delta.

“We recognize the Church not just as a place of worship but as a vital pillar of nation-building, shaping values, strengthening families, and nurturing citizens who uphold truth and justice.

“Together, we will continue to build a Delta State where righteousness exalts the land and justice flows like a mighty river (Amos 5:24),” he stated.

Governor Oborevwori further noted that the Isoko Christian House will serve as a centre for interdenominational fellowship, mentorship, dialogue, and outreach. He described it as a space where hearts will be uplifted, leaders nurtured, and communities transformed through faith and service.

“As we dedicate this House today, let us also rededicate ourselves to the service of God, the unity of the Church, and the progress of our people.

“May this moment mark the beginning of a new era of revival, faith, and impact in the Isoko Nation and beyond,” he added.

The Governor expressed deep appreciation to the Isoko Christian community for their vision, sacrifice, and steadfast faith, praying that the Isoko Christian House will continually be filled with God’s presence, echo with praise, and stand as a beacon of hope and transformation for generations to come.
