Oborevwori Commissions Landmark Projects In Bomadi, Affirms Local Governments As Catalysts For Change

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on Thursday, commissioned multiple developmental projects in Bomadi Local Government Area, reaffirming the vital role local councils play in grassroots transformation.

Represented by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, Governor Oborevwori lauded the Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Council, Hon. Dagidi Andaye, for his proactive leadership and dedication to community development.

“With the array of completed projects here today, it is evident that local governments can drive real change when leaders are focused and committed,” the Governor stated.

“My administration remains resolute in supporting local councils to deliver tangible benefits to our people.”

He described the projects as clear symbols of progress aligned with the state’s MORE Agenda, adding: “These projects reflect Hon. Andaye’s commitment to service, unity, and sustainable development.”

The Governor commended Hon. Andaye’s exceptional personal sacrifice, revealing that prior to assuming office, he spent ₦50 million of his own funds to repair the Bomadi-Ohoro Road, describing it as “a shining example of selfless leadership.”

In his first year in office, Hon. Andaye has delivered several impactful projects, including:

Renovation of the Chairman’s Lodge

Construction of a Residential Building for the Vice Chairman

Completion of the Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori Event Centre

Connection of Bomadi to the National Electricity Grid

Construction of a Residential Building for a High Court Judge

Construction of concrete pavement with dual drainage systems

The Governor also noted other ongoing projects, such as staff quarters, additional pavements, and an Internal Audit Block.

He praised the launch of the Bomadi Elderly Women Empowerment Programme (BEWEP), describing it as “a demonstration of inclusive governance that cares for the most vulnerable.”

“These efforts exemplify good governance, putting the people first, improving infrastructure, and maintaining transparency.

“I urge the people of Bomadi to continue supporting Hon. Andaye. These achievements are the product of unity and shared purpose,” Oborevwori said.

In his address, Hon. Dagidi Andaye expressed gratitude to Governor Oborevwori for his visionary leadership and steadfast support.

“The Governor’s commitment to Bomadi’s development is evident in the numerous projects executed and appointments given to sons and daughters of this local government.

“We also deeply appreciate the Bomadi/Ohoro Road project, which has enhanced accessibility and connectivity,” he said.

The commissioning ceremony, which doubled as a celebration of Hon. Andaye’s one year in office, drew a large crowd and featured notable dignitaries, including Prof. Sam Oyovbaire, Senator Abdul Ningi, Senator Emmanuel Aguariavwodo.

Others were Senator James Manager, Commissioners, Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon, Sir Ifeanyi Osakwe, Mrs. Lyna Ochulor, traditional rulers, local government chairmen, and other distinguished guests.
