Oborevwori Celebrates Tonlagha At 50, Highlights His Exemplary Life Of Service, Resilience

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, praised Mr. Matthew Tonlagha, Chairman of Maton Engineering Limited, during the celebration of his 50th birthday, acknowledging his dedication to service, resilience, and generosity.

The significant turnout at the event underscored Tonlagha’s positive impact on the community.

At the thanksgiving ceremony held in Warri, Governor Oborevwori reflected on the inspiring testimonies shared, emphasizing that they serve as valuable lessons for others.

He noted the impressive assembly of individuals, which showcased the many lives Tonlagha has influenced throughout the years.

“I am particularly delighted for you, knowing your journey. For a decade, you faced the challenge of not being able to walk, a substantial period.

Yet, God has sustained you, and I believe He will continue to reward your contributions to humanity,” he expressed.

The governor remarked that Tonlagha’s goodwill has fostered unity amongst people from Warri and beyond, with distinguished guests coming from various regions of the country.

The presence of notable figures, religious leaders, and a friendly football match between Bayelsa and Delta States in Tonlagha’s honor further highlighted his widespread acceptance and influence.

Governor Oborevwori reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring peace and security in Delta State, emphasizing that peace remains a fundamental priority.

He noted the collaborative efforts of security agencies, communities, and government initiatives aimed at actively engaging youth to promote sustained peace.

“Peace is our main focus. Our security agencies are fulfilling their roles, communities are contributing, and the government is dedicated to engaging our populace and providing meaningful opportunities,” he stated.

He encouraged local investments, asserting, “Anyone who benefits economically from this state should reinvest here.

This land is exceptionally fertile for growth. As a native, I can assure you that investing here is safe.”

The governor also praised Tonlagha’s wife for her unwavering support, recognizing her as a steadfast partner through challenging times.

He extended his appreciation to the celebrant’s mother and mother-in-law for their enduring encouragement and offered prayers for their blessings.

In a brief sermon titled “A Worthy Life,” Pastor Emmanuel Kalejaiye, Continental Overseer for South-West Nigeria and the Middle East of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, articulated that a worthy life is characterized by reverence for God and service to others.

He emphasized that thanksgiving is a vital expression of gratitude conveyed through actions and words.

In his remarks, Mr. Matthew Tonlagha expressed his profound gratitude for reaching the milestone of 50 years, describing himself as genuinely blessed.

He paid homage to all mothers, particularly his own, whom he credited as his source of strength. He also celebrated his wife, highlighting their relationship built on mutual understanding.

Tonlagha concluded the ceremony by leading the congregation in a powerful expression of thanks, inviting everyone to offer seven resounding hallelujahs to God, whom he acknowledged as instrumental in overcoming numerous life challenges, including his battle with polio.
