… Oborevwori saved N6 billion for Deltans, says Works Commissioner

Delta State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, has described the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, as a prudent manager of resources.

The Information Commissioner, while speaking to journalists Friday June 14, 2024, shortly after the State Executive Council (EXCO) meeting presided over by the governor in Government House, Asaba, said, contrary to speculations, Oborevwori showed prudence in the management of funds accruing to the State.

The mouthpiece of the State, urged Deltans and all residents of the State to support the governor adding, “And he is very interested that nobody comes to shortchange Delta State”

Osuoza expressed optimism for a stronger and better economy under Governor Oborevwori’s administration.

His words: “His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori is a very prudent manager of resources and he cares about Deltans.

“And he will stop at nothing towards making sure that Deltans enjoy full dividends of democracy.

“And he is very interested that nobody comes to shortchange Delta State

“That is why he is taking it upon himself to go into full negotiations directly with the contractors regarding these upward reviews through the ministries so that there is no abuse of any sort”.

Corroborating Dr. Osuoza’s position, the Commissioner for Works (Highways and Urban Roads), Comrade Reuben Izeze said the state government was able to save over N6 billion in the Ughelli/Asaba dualisation project due to the bargaining power of Governor Oborevwori.

Izeze assured Deltans that the present administration in the state would not compromise standards while ensuring that Deltans got value for their money in project execution.
