With a few days to the March 11 governorship election, Obidients in Delta State have ruled out the Labour Party (LP) gubernatorial candidate, Ken Pela, from the race.
The Obidients also said they are not ready to do anything with Ken Pela, as their alliance with the presidential candidate of the party, Mr. Peter Obi, was due to his commitment, integrity, character to the job he vied for at the national.
Addressing fellow Obidients under the umbrella body of Idjere OBIDIENT family, the Coordinator, Collins Atoborherhiru, said the LP governorship candidate, Ken Pela, has failed to identify with them.
He said: “Ahead of the governorship election that is coming up March 11th 2023, as you all know, we members of Labour Party and OBIDIENTS, have a governorship candidate but our major focus and aim, is for Peter Obi and we have delivered on that.
They however called on their colleagues in other parts of the State to mobilize massively for the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), His Excellency, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi OON, FNIM, during the polls.
“The candidate of Labour Party, has not come to address us to tell us his place of origin.
“I want to use this opportunity to call on all OBIDIENTS in Idjerhe, Ethiope west and Delta State in general, to support the SDP candidate in the coming election. We are not doing this to seek for funds or any favour”, he added.
