The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Delta State Council, has announced plans to hold its 2024 Press Week, a highly anticipated annual event aimed at celebrating the contributions of journalists to national development.
The 2-day event will feature media awareness and Thanksgiving on Sunday December 29, 2024, at Living Faith Church, Okpanam, Oshimili North local government area of the State.
A release on Thursday December 26, 2024, signed by Elder Barry Agbanigbi and Oris Aniretan, Chairman and Secretary of the Press Week Planning Committee respectively, disclosed that Monday December 30, 2024, would be the Press Week Lecture and Award Day at Press Center, along Maryam Babangida Way, Asaba.
According to the release, on Tuesday December 31, 2024, Union members would be led on Community Development Service.
This yearās Press Week promises to provide a platform for journalists, media practitioners, and stakeholders to engage in meaningful dialogue on the challenges and opportunities in the profession.
The event will also feature awards to honor outstanding journalists and recognize their efforts in promoting accountability, transparency, and nation-building.
“The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Delta State Council, will be rounding off the year 2024 with her Press Week schedule to be held from Sunday to Tuesday, December 30-31, 2024.
“Sunday, December 29, 2024, is Media Awareness/Thanksgiving Day for our members all over the state. The Thanksgiving venue for those in the state capital territory area is Living Faith Church, Okpanam.
“Monday, December 30, 2024, is the Press Week Lecture/Award Day. Venue is NUJ Press Centre, Maryam Babangida Way, Asaba at 11.00 a.m.
“Tuesday, December 31, 2024, is Community Development Service Day”, the release added.
