The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Late Evangelist Mrs. Elizabeth Azu Ovwile, mother of Comrade Austin Azu, Correspondent of News Central at Government House, Asaba.
In a condolence message, the NUJ described the demise of Mrs. Azu Ovwile as a painful loss to her family, the Christian community, and the Elume people of Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State, where she hailed from.
The late Evangelist Mrs. Elizabeth Azu Ovwile was eulogised as a woman of faith, virtue, and unwavering service to God and humanity.
A devoted member of God’s Grace Ministry, she lived a life firmly rooted in Christian values, touching lives positively through her commitment to family, church, and community.
According to the NUJ, Mama Elizabeth was a loving mother and caring grandmother whose enduring legacy is reflected in the responsible and distinguished lives of her children.
Among them are Hon. Samuel Azu, Leader of the Sapele Legislative Arm; Rev. God’s Time Azu of God’s Grace Ministry; Comrade Austin Azu; Akpuvie Azu; Happy Azu Omofuju; Victor Azu; Vera Aghogi; and Justice Azu, among others.
Her passing at the age of 71, the Union noted, is not only a loss to the Azu family but also to the body of Christ and the entire Elume community, where she was widely respected for her godly life and motherly counsel.
On behalf of the Chairman, Executive Members, and the entire membership of the NUJ, Delta State Council, the Union commiserated with Comrade Austin Azu and the entire Azu family, praying that God grants them the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
The NUJ also prayed for the peaceful repose of her soul, asking that her departed spirit finds eternal rest in the bosom of the Lord.
