The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council, has congratulated Professor Patrick Nkemdilim Ijeh on his appointment and ratification as Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Delta (UNIDEL), Agbor.
The Council described the appointment, which was ratified by the UNIDEL Governing Council, as a well-deserved recognition of Prof. Ijeh’s academic excellence, administrative competence, and outstanding contributions to the growth and governance of the institution.
Until his recent elevation, Prof. Ijeh served with distinction as Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and is a senior academic in the Department of Mass Communication.
He is widely regarded as a seasoned scholar with an impressive track record in teaching, research, curriculum development, and academic leadership.
The NUJ noted that Prof. Ijeh, an associate member of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Delta State Council, has consistently upheld the ideals of professional ethics, responsible communication, and the advancement of journalism practice.
The Council further acknowledged his reputation for integrity, meritocracy, and transparency, describing these qualities as critical to effective leadership and sustainable institutional development.
Expressing confidence in his capacity to excel in the new role, the NUJ stated that Prof. Ijeh’s wealth of experience, collegial leadership style, and scholarly depth would significantly contribute to advancing the vision and mission of the University of Delta.
The NUJ Delta State Council once again congratulated Prof. Patrick Nkemdilim Ijeh and wished him a successful and impactful tenure as Deputy Vice-Chancellor of UNIDEL.
The congratulatory message was jointly signed by the Chairman of the Council, Comrade Churchill Oyowe, and the Acting Secretary, Comrade Josephine Omodior.
