The Wife of Delta Governor and Founder, You Matter Charity Foundation, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, has pledged to partner with the Delta State COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (D-CARES) Program to drive the vision of her pet project and actualize the MORE Agenda of her husbandā€™s administration for Deltans.

Deaconess Oborevwori, who made this pledge during a visit of the D-CARES Program Team to her office on Monday, March 4, 2024, noted that the agenda of the interventionist programs align with the missions of her foundation, which is to cater to vulnerable individuals and groups in Delta State.

She said, ā€˜ā€™The objectives of the D-CARES align with the missions of the You Matter Charity Foundation, which is to provide support to poor and vulnerable individuals in our society.

ā€˜ā€™Our foundation believes in creating a world where everybody is somebody. I am glad that the D-CARES intervention programs seek to provide the needed relief and support to these vulnerable persons. I want to assure you of my commitment to partner with you for the benefit of Deltans.

ā€˜ā€™The successful implementation of your various programs will also add value to the MORE Agenda of the Governor, my dear husband. I want our people, especially those at the grassroots, to feel the impact of your office. You Matter Charity Foundation is open to collaborations and partnerships that will facilitate the success of this program.

ā€˜ā€™I believe that working together with us will enable us to create a world where everybody is somebody.ā€™ā€™

The State Coordinator, D-CARES, Dr. Patience Ogbewe, in an address, said that the program is a World Bank-assisted initiative designed to support poor and vulnerable households with social transfers, basic services, and livelihood grants. The program also ensures food security through agriculture and extends support to micro and small enterprise institutions and individuals adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Ogbewe expressed excitement about the governor’s wife’s pledge to establish a partnership with the program, saying that it presents an opportunity for D-CARES to identify with the You Matter Charity Foundation’s motto of “Everybody is Somebody.”

ā€˜ā€™We, therefore, hope to synergize with you as we progress in the implementation of the D-CARES Program, which is a Social Protection intervention that seeks to help disadvantaged persons reach and maintain an adequate standard of living and good health.ā€™ā€™
