The Mobile Court of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA) has convicted sixteen individuals for violating environmental sanitation laws within the state capital territory.
During its sitting on Thursday, March 12, 2026, the court also discharged four defendants after reviewing the circumstances surrounding their cases, while bench warrants were issued for twelve other offenders who failed to appear in court to respond to charges brought against them.
One of the cases involved Chuzz4 Apartment and Suites, which was prosecuted for allegedly discharging wastewater into a public drainage channel, an act considered a breach of environmental regulations and a potential risk to public health.
The cases were prosecuted by the Head of Environment at DSCTDA, Mr. Isaac Nwosu, who led the enforcement action against individuals and establishments found to have contravened environmental sanitation laws within the capital territory.
Reacting to the development, the Director General of DSCTDA, Mr. Patrick Ukah, reiterated the agency’s determination to strictly enforce environmental regulations in order to maintain a clean and healthy environment in the state capital.
Ukah warned that residents, corporate organizations, and property owners who violate environmental laws, including the improper disposal of wastewater and solid waste, will continue to face legal consequences.
He further urged residents, business operators, and property managers to adhere strictly to environmental sanitation guidelines, assuring that the agency would sustain its enforcement efforts to promote environmental cleanliness, public health, and orderly development within the capital territory.
